Illinois Senate resolution mourning the death of the Honorable Edward H. "Ed" Marsalek, who passed away on September 4, 2022 at age 98

Judge Marsalek served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946 in the South Pacific during World War II, was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1953, and helped draft the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act signed into law in 1961

Appointed as associate judge in 1986, later elected as a full circuit judge, serving in Traffic Court, Bond Court, First Municipal, Domestic Relations, and as supervising judge of Housing Court until retirement in 1998

Member of the Judicial Inquiry Board from 1982 to 1990, president of the 44th Ward Democratic Organization, and named Person of the Year by the Chicago Society Polish National Alliance in 2016

Resolution extends condolences to his wife Ann of over 62 years, children Judge Diann Marsalek, Carolyn Marsalek, and Edward Marsalek, grandchildren, and extended family
