Dr. Szigethy was born in Hungary on September 15, 1932, fled during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, and immigrated to Canada before eventually settling in Illinois

Earned his medical degree from the University of Vienna in 1973 and moved to Oblong in 1979, where he operated clinics in Oblong and Newton for nearly four decades

Known for providing free medical care to patients who could not afford services, including personally transporting patients to hospitals at no charge

Survived by his wife Maria, four children, and nine grandchildren; the resolution extends condolences and directs a copy be presented to his family
