Honors the memory of Frieda "Fritzie" (Weiss) Fritzshall, a Holocaust survivor who passed away on June 19, 2021.

Fritzshall was born in Czechoslovakia on August 21, 1929 and survived deportation to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, torture, and forced labor before being liberated by the Soviet Army in 1945.

Served as president of the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center, the third largest Holocaust museum in the world, and dedicated her life to preserving Holocaust survivors' stories and combating hatred and anti-Semitism.

Immigrated to the United States after the war, married World War II veteran Norman Fritzshall, worked as a hairdresser, and left behind a son, two grandsons, and extended family.

Illinois Senate expresses deepest sympathy to her family and gratitude for her lifetime of public service and advocacy against prejudice.
