George McLain "Mac" Pogue of Peoria passed away on November 13, 2022, and the Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and loved ones.

Mac Pogue was born September 6, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, graduated from East Peoria Community High School in 1963, and earned a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Bradley University in 1967.

Mac Pogue had a 34-year career in information technology at Keystone Steel & Wire Company, Caterpillar Inc., and IBM Corporation beginning in 1969.

In retirement, Mac Pogue served as a founding board member of the Peoria Charter School Initiative and was active in the Peoria Area World Affairs Council, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Bradley University, Friends of Proctor Center, and Our Saviour's Chapel.

Mac Pogue is survived by his wife of 44 years, Connie (Cress) Pogue; his sons Bart and Justin Pogue; his half sister Eileen (Bob) DeWeese; two grandsons; and other loved ones.
