Senate Resolution mourning the death of Ralph Eugene Sackett, who passed away on August 18, 2021

Sackett was born October 27, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in Collinsville, Illinois; he attended Illinois Wesleyan University where he played third baseman and married Alicia Ann Westwood

Sackett had a career in coaching and teaching at multiple high schools and universities, earning a master's degree in Mathematics from Illinois State University; his teams in baseball, cross country, and basketball excelled under his direction

Sackett transitioned to banking with Bloomington Federal Savings & Loan in 1975 and later worked in real estate development, completing the Robeson Crossing development in southwest Champaign

At his passing, Sackett was survived by his wife of 61 years, four children, 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; the Senate extends condolences to his family and friends
