Scott Schoeller passed away on July 24, 2022; he grew up in Skokie and attended Cleveland Elementary School, Oakview Middle School, and Niles East High School.

Founded Contour Landscaping in 1976 in a neighbor's garage, which grew into a thriving business in Skokie's downtown; served as a 40-year member and board chair of the Skokie Chamber of Commerce.

Held leadership positions as president of the Illinois Professional Lawn Care Association and served as a certified arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture.

Volunteered as an instructor for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and as an introduction leader for Landmark Education, a personal and professional development company.

Senate extends condolences to his surviving family: wife Mary, son Ben, and daughter Heidi.
