Illinois Senate mourns the death of Paul Richard "Dick" Ware of Jacksonville, who passed away on November 20, 2022

Ware was born July 16, 1931, graduated from Tuscola High School in 1949, attended University of Illinois where he was a member of the 1952 Big Ten Champion track team, and graduated in 1953

Served as CEO and chairman of Ware Oil Company, and held board positions with Elliott State Bank, FirstBank of Illinois, Passavant Hospital, Illinois State Museum, MacMurray College, and the Illinois Petroleum Marketers Association

Was an avid naturalist with lifelong interest in bird and insect study, participated in bird banding and bird counts, remained active as a runner and walker into his 80s, and volunteered at Sarasota's Mote Marine Aquarium

Senate extends condolences to his surviving family including two children, five grandchildren, stepson, step-grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews
