IL HB1151

Removes the state residency requirement for Illinois landowners to obtain free deer, turkey, and combination hunting permits if they own at least 40 acres of Illinois land and hunt only on their own property.

Allows nonresidents who own at least 40 acres of land in Illinois to obtain permits at a fee set by administrative rule, whereas previously only residents could obtain free permits.

Maintains free permits for resident tenants of at least 40 acres of commercial agricultural land and for bona fide equity shareholders, members, or partners of corporations, LLCs, or partnerships owning at least 40 acres.

Caps free permits for corporate shareholders and LLC members at 15 per county and for partnership interests at 3 per county, with one permit issued per 40 acres of property.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
