Adds September 17 (Constitution Day) to the list of commemorative holidays in Illinois schools, which are regular school days requiring instruction about the commemorated topic.

Commemorative holidays are school days where instruction relative to honored persons, activities, or events must occur on that day or the first school day before or after.

State Board of Education shall prepare and make available instructional materials related to commemorated persons, activities, or events for use by school boards.

School boards may establish additional commemorative holidays and must include instruction on commemorated topics either on the holiday or at other appropriate times during the school year.

Act takes effect July 1, 2023.
