IL HB1275

Amends Section 2-1116 of the Code of Civil Procedure regarding limitations on tort recovery based on contributory fault.

Prohibits any contributory fault from being attributed to plaintiffs bringing actions for personal injury damages based on childhood sexual abuse as defined in Section 13-202.2.

Maintains existing comparative fault rules for other negligence and product liability cases, where plaintiffs with less than 50% fault may recover reduced damages.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
