Extends the application deadline for teachers to establish optional credit for private school service from June 30, 2023 to June 30, 2028.

Allows teachers or administrators employed by private schools recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education to claim up to 2 years of optional service credit, provided they were certified and complete at least 10 years of contributing service.

Requires private school service credit applicants to supply satisfactory evidence of employment and pay required contributions under Section 16-128(d-5) of the Illinois Pension Code.

Permits teachers to apply and pay contributions before completing the required 10 years of contributing service, but the credit cannot be used until that requirement is met.
