• Amends the Public Interest Attorney Loan Repayment Assistance Program to increase maximum loan repayment assistance for assistant Public Defenders with at least 6 years of service in Illinois Public Defender offices (excluding Cook County) who graduated from Illinois law schools.

• Changes the maximum assistance from a flat $30,000 career cap to the greater of either full tuition cost at the law school attended or $30,000 for qualifying participants.

• Maintains the existing $6,000 per year cap and $30,000 career maximum for all other program participants.

• Keeps all other program requirements intact, including eligibility criteria, forgivable loan structure, and prioritization criteria when funds are insufficient.
