Music venues with capacity over 1,000 persons must have opioid antagonists available on premises and a trained staff member present during operating hours.

A person is considered sufficiently trained to administer opioid antagonists if they hold any current or past certification from a governmental or private entity.

Licensees, music venue operators, and trained staff members are protected from civil liability when administering opioid antagonists in good faith, except in cases of willful or wanton misconduct.

Insurance companies must consider an applicant's or insured's compliance with opioid antagonist requirements when providing commercial liability insurance to music venues.

The Act takes effect June 1, 2024.
