IL HB1572

Amends the Department of Professional Regulation Law to add emergency powers for the Secretary of Financial and Professional Regulation during declared disasters.

Authorizes the Secretary to issue licenses, including temporary licenses, to health care professionals on an expedited basis according to Department rules for expedited licensure.

Maintains existing emergency powers to suspend licensure requirements for out-of-state licensed professionals, modify scope of practice restrictions, and expand pharmacy practice exemptions during declared disasters.

Requires all emergency exemptions and modified scope of practice provisions to terminate when the declared disaster ends.

Specifies that emergency powers must be exercised through proclamation and in coordination with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Department of Public Health.
