• Department of Innovation and Technology must develop and manage a digital repository for law enforcement agencies to store, retain, and retrieve officer-worn body camera recordings under the Law Enforcement Officer-Worn Body Camera Act.

• Repository recordings must comply with minimum requirements in the Law Enforcement Officer-Worn Body Camera Act, including proper retention periods and handling of flagged encounters.

• Law enforcement agencies may voluntarily use the state digital repository instead of maintaining their own storage systems for body camera recordings.

• If an agency uses the state repository and flags an encounter, the agency must notify the Department of Innovation and Technology in writing at least 10 days before the 90-day storage period expires.

• The Act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
