IL HB2033

Amends the Local Government Debt Reform Act to allow county clerks to accept electronic filing of tax levy ordinances for general obligation bonds and limited bonds.

Requires governmental units that file bond tax levy ordinances electronically to maintain an original signed copy of the ordinance for as long as the bonds remain outstanding.

Allows tax levies for bond principal and interest to be filed any time prior to March 1 of the calendar year during which the tax will be collected.

Requires county clerks to add sufficient amounts to debt service levies to account for tax collection losses and delinquencies to ensure adequate funds for prompt debt service payment.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
