IL HB2096

Amends the Homeowners' Energy Policy Statement Act to add an exception allowing the Act to apply to portions of shared roofs owned solely by individual residence owners.

Permits application of the Act to shared roof portions where the homeowner agrees to be responsible for maintaining the roof under solar panels.

Maintains existing exemption for buildings greater than 60 feet in height and for shared roofs subject to homeowners' associations, common interest community associations, or condominium unit owners' associations.

Defines "shared roof" as any roof serving more than one unit (including contiguous roofs serving adjacent units) or part of common elements or common areas.
