IL HB2235

Removes the previous 3-year limit on school board transportation contracts and allows contracts for any period deemed appropriate by school boards.

Establishes a maximum contract length of 10 years inclusive of any proposed renewals.

Requires contracts longer than 5 years that do not use electric vehicles to include a termination option after 5 years.

Allows contracts utilizing a significant percentage of electric vehicles to extend up to 15 years if justified by capital or infrastructure purchases that require longer-term commitment.

Permits contract opener clauses for any purpose to be included in transportation contracts.
