IL HB2236

Amends the Property Tax Code Section 15-40 regarding property exempt for religious, orphanage, or school purposes.

Changes the filing requirement for notice of transfer of exempt property in Cook County from the county recorder to the county clerk.

Requires the county clerk to transmit a copy of the recorded transfer notice to the chief county assessment officer within 14 days of receipt.

Maintains existing exemptions for property used exclusively for religious purposes, orphanages, school and religious purposes, and housing facilities for ministers and religious workers.
