IL HB2277

Amends the Child Care Act of 1969 to expand exemptions from day care center licensing requirements for park district programs serving children age 3 and older.

Park district programs organized under the Park District Code are exempt if they meet no more than 3.5 continuous hours at a time and no more than 25 hours per week, and conduct background investigations on employees per Section 8-23 of the Park District Code.

Establishes requirements for school-age out-of-school time programs to comply with health, safety, criminal background checks, and staff qualification standards set by the Department of Human Services.

Programs receiving Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) funding must request exemption from the Department prior to receiving funds and meet annual eligibility requirements.

Out-of-school time programs receiving state or federal funds must comply only with staff qualification standards set by the funding entity, rather than Department standards.
