IL HB2297

Amends the State Employment Records Act to include "persons who identify as non-binary or gender non-conforming" in diversity data collection and reporting requirements for state agencies.

Requires state agencies to collect and publish demographic information on the number and percentage of women, minorities, non-binary or gender non-conforming persons, and persons with physical disabilities employed across various job categories and salary levels.

Directs the Index Department of the Office of the Secretary of State to develop standardized reporting forms in consultation with the Department of Human Rights, Department of Central Management Services, and Office of the Comptroller.

Changes reporting categories for persons with physical disabilities from "male and female" to "man, woman, and persons who identify as non-binary or gender non-conforming."

Takes effect July 1, 2025.
