IL HB2323

Amends the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Act to expand the Authority's powers and duties regarding criminal justice information systems and data tracking.

Authorizes the Authority to conduct strategic planning and provide technical assistance for comprehensive trauma recovery services for violent crime victims in underserved communities with high levels of violent crime.

Empowers the Authority to coordinate statewide violence prevention efforts, implement trauma recovery centers, and develop a 4-year statewide violence prevention plan incorporating public health, public safety, victim services, and trauma recovery.

Establishes that integrated and accurate data systems will allow law enforcement agencies to better serve victims, analyze crime responses, and work to eliminate racial disparities in local and State responses to crime.
