• Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to reduce vehicle registration fees by 50% for veterans starting with the 2025 registration year.

• Applies the 50% reduction to passenger motor vehicles of the first division and motor vehicles of the second division weighing not more than 8,000 pounds registered under Section 3-815.

• Requires vehicle owners to be identified as veterans under subsection (e) of Section 6-106 to qualify for the fee reduction.

• Does not prevent veterans from also receiving the registration fee waiver for the year following return from combat missions, as provided under existing law.

• Becomes effective January 1, 2024.
