County employees and officials are prohibited from publicly disclosing on Internet websites whether a property has received a homestead exemption based on disability status if the person with a disability submits a written request to withhold that information.

Information must be removed from county Internet websites within 5 business days of receiving a written request from the person with a disability or their authorized agent or representative.

After removal, county employees and officials cannot re-post or display the disability-related exemption information unless the individual with a disability provides written authorization.

Property owners whose homestead exemption disability status is publicly disclosed in violation of this section may file a circuit court action seeking injunctive or declaratory relief to prohibit further disclosure.
