HB2345 Summary

• Amends the Workers' Compensation Act Section 8 to require deduction of prior compensation awarded for a previous spine injury from any subsequent award for injury to the same part of the spine.

• Defines "same part of the spine" as the cervical and thoracic spine (vertebra C1 through T12) and the lumbar and sacral spine (vertebra L1 through S5).

• Applies to both complete loss of spinal function and the permanent partial loss of use described in paragraph (d)(2) of Section 8.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
