• Persons committing a misdemeanor while armed with a firearm shall be sentenced as a Class 4 felony.

• Probation, periodic imprisonment, or conditional discharge are prohibited for any felony committed while armed with a firearm.

• A mandatory additional 15-year sentence is imposed when a person convicted of any offense while armed with a firearm causes death or great bodily harm to another person with that firearm.
