Teachers who are elected by a statewide teacher association to represent the association in federal advocacy work may take up to 10 days off during a school term for this purpose.

Teachers receive full wages during their absence for federal advocacy work with no deduction of pay.

The statewide teacher association must reimburse the employing school district for the cost of substitute teacher coverage during the teacher's absence.

This provision applies only to teachers who are members of a statewide association representing teachers.
