• Prohibits companies from issuing, delivering, amending, or renewing short-term, limited-duration insurance (coverage with expiration less than 365 days) to Illinois residents effective January 1, 2025, with exceptions for excepted benefits and student health insurance.

• Expands prosthetic and orthotic device coverage requirements under health insurance policies to include benefits for devices determined medically necessary by providers to enable physical activities like running, biking, and swimming for enrollees of any age.

• Clarifies that student health insurance coverage must meet individual health insurance standards and requires issuers to obtain individual applications and provide approved certificates for student health and limited-scope dental or vision coverage.

• Applies short-term, limited-duration insurance prohibitions to group accident and health insurance, blanket accident and health insurance, Health Maintenance Organizations, and Limited Health Service Organizations.

• Repeals the Short-Term, Limited-Duration Health Insurance Coverage Act.
