Health care professionals treating patients in Illinois via telehealth must be licensed or authorized to practice in the state.

Holders of temporary permits for advanced practice registered nurses or general health care may provide telehealth services consistent with their scope of practice and sponsoring entity agreement.

Out-of-state health care professionals may provide telehealth treatment to patients who are students attending Illinois institutions of higher education, but only while they are enrolled as students.
