Establishes heating and cooling standards for common interest communities, condominiums, and rental properties in Illinois with building-wide systems

During cooling season (June 1 - September 30), cooling systems must operate when heat index exceeds 80 degrees Fahrenheit

During heating season (October 1 - May 31), heat must maintain minimum 68 degrees Fahrenheit between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. when outside temperature falls below 55 degrees, and minimum 62 degrees Fahrenheit between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Buildings without building-wide cooling systems must provide at least one free, indoor common gathering space with cooling when heat index exceeds 80 degrees; exempts buildings with no common gathering space

Applies only to properties where initial declarations limit ownership, rental, or occupancy to persons 55 years of age or older
