IL HB2602

Deletes the prohibition on concealed carry in buildings, classrooms, laboratories, medical clinics, hospitals, artistic venues, athletic venues, entertainment venues, university-related organization property, and parking areas at public or private community colleges, colleges, and universities.

Allows public and private colleges and universities to prohibit firearms in vehicles they own, lease, or control, and to develop policies regarding student/employee misconduct and discipline.

Permits colleges and universities to establish designated parking areas for vehicles carrying firearms and to allow firearms for authorized instructional programs including military science, law enforcement training, hunting, and target shooting.

Maintains all other existing firearm prohibitions including restrictions at elementary and secondary schools, government buildings, courthouses, detention facilities, hospitals, transportation facilities, alcohol-serving establishments, stadiums, airports, and parks.

Allows private property owners (except residential) to prohibit concealed firearms if they post required signage at entrances.
