IL HB2613

Amends the Short-Term, Limited-Duration Health Insurance Coverage Act to modify expiration date requirements for short-term health insurance policies delivered or issued in Illinois.

Requires short-term health insurance policies to expire less than 181 days after the effective date or December 31 of the current year, whichever is later (previously required expiration within 181 days of effective date only).

Maintains prohibition on renewal or extension of policies within 365 days after coverage ends, either at the option of the issuer or individual.

Defines renewal as issuance of a new short-term policy by an issuer to a policyholder within 60 days after expiration of a previously issued policy.

Maintains existing protections against rescission except for nonpayment, fraud, or cancellation, and preserves individual right to cancel coverage after any 30-day interval.
