Prohibits insurers from applying higher clinical evidence standards to proton beam therapy coverage than applied to other radiation therapy treatments for cancer treatment plans amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2025.

Requires group and individual health insurance policies and managed care plans that provide radiation oncology coverage to include coverage for medically necessary proton beam therapy for cancer treatment, effective January 1, 2025.

Mandates managed care organizations contracted with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to provide proton beam therapy coverage to Medicaid recipients.

Defines "proton beam therapy" as radiation therapy using protons to treat tumors and cancerous cells, and specifies that radiation therapy treatment includes proton therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy, brachytherapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy, and three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy.
