IL HB2830

Amends the Property Tax Code to increase the population threshold for mandatory multi-township assessors from 1,000 to 3,000 inhabitants in Sections 2-5 and 2-10.

Requires townships with less than 3,000 inhabitants (previously 1,000) to elect multi-township assessors rather than individual township assessors.

Applies the new 3,000-inhabitant threshold to the requirements for establishing multi-township assessment districts, including contiguity and district composition rules.

Maintains existing provisions for township boards to accept suggested assessment districts or adopt alternatives, subject to the revised population requirement.
