IL HB2850

Permits the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts and Department of Juvenile Justice to hire county juvenile detention center personnel with less than a bachelor's degree, including those with an associate's degree or at least 60 completed college credit hours.

Allows Department of Juvenile Justice personnel hired after the effective date to work in rehabilitative training, youth supervision, and development roles with only a bachelor's or advanced degree requirement.

Exempts security, clerical, food service, and maintenance staff without direct youth contact from degree requirements.

Exempts vocational training providers from degree requirements if they possess adequate knowledge in their skill area.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
