Increases employment limits for retired downstate teachers beginning July 1, 2023, from 100 paid days or 500 paid hours to 150 paid days or 750 paid hours per school year.

Allows annuitants receiving retirement annuities (excluding disability annuities) to accept teacher employment without impairing retirement status if employment occurs outside the school year of service termination.

Maintains existing employment restrictions for different time periods, with the new 150 days/750 hours limit applying only to employment beginning July 1, 2023 forward.

Provides that when employment is partly daily and partly hourly, one day equals 5 hours for calculation purposes.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
