IL HB2900

Prohibits any person from organizing, sponsoring, promoting, conducting, or participating in contests, competitions, tournaments, or derbies with the objective of taking fur-bearing mammals for cash, prizes, or other inducements.

Exempts field trials permitted by the Department of Natural Resources from the prohibition.

Establishes violation of the fur-bearing mammal killing contest prohibition as a Class A misdemeanor with fines ranging from $500 to $5,000.

Amends the Wildlife Code's penalty provisions to add enforcement mechanisms for violations of the new Section 2.40.
