HB2925 Summary

• Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act by modifying the definition of "firearm" in Section 430 ILCS 65/1.1

• Removes the existing exclusion for pneumatic guns, spring guns, paint ball guns, and B-B guns that expel single projectiles not exceeding .18 inch in diameter or with muzzle velocity under 700 feet per second

• Adds a new exclusion for pneumatic guns, spring guns, paint ball guns, or B-B guns that expel only breakable paint balls containing washable marking colors

• Creates a narrower exemption that allows only paintball guns designed specifically for paintball use while potentially subjecting traditional B-B guns and air guns to firearm ownership identification requirements
