IL HB2958

Modifies the penalty for reinstating a lapsed Professional Educator License from a flat $50 penalty to the lesser of $50 or $10 per year the license has lapsed.

Allows educators whose licenses have lapsed to reinstate them either by paying the reduced penalty or by completing 9 semester hours of coursework from a regionally accredited institution in their endorsement area.

Applies to reinstatement of Professional Educator Licenses under Illinois School Code Section 21B-45.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
