IL HB2998

Amends the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act by adding Section 79 regarding electronic monitoring and recording in assisted living establishments.

Directs the Department of Public Health to study current and potential uses of electronic monitoring and recording to prevent and identify abuse and neglect in assisted living facilities.

Requires the Department to report its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly and Governor within one year of the bill's effective date.

Authorizes the Department to adopt rules requiring installation and use of electronic monitoring and recording in assisted living establishments if the study determines that benefits outweigh costs.
