HB3033 Summary

• Allows election authorities to reduce the number of election judges in each precinct from 5 to 3 for any election, except in counties with a population of at least 3,000,000 or where election judges are selected by election commissioners.

• Modifies Section 13-1 and 13-2 of the Election Code to permit this reduction for counties not under township organization and counties under township organization, respectively.

• Changes Section 14-1 to require boards of election commissioners to select "no less than 3" judges (rather than 5) for each precinct in cities, villages, and incorporated towns with election commissions.

• Effective immediately upon becoming law.
