Requires school boards to conduct in-service training on homelessness for all school personnel at least once every 2 years.

Training must cover the federal definition of homeless children and youth under Section 11434a of Title 42 of the United States Code, signs of homelessness and housing insecurity, and students' rights under state and federal law.

Training shall include steps for identifying homeless or housing-insecure students and appropriate referral techniques, including the name and contact number of the school or school district homeless liaison.

School boards may partner with community-based organizations specializing in homeless children and youth to develop and deliver the required training.
