Requires health insurance policies amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2025 to cover medically necessary home saliva cancer screening every 24 months for asymptomatic patients at high risk or those demonstrating symptoms of the disease being tested for.

Adds Section 356z.61 to the Illinois Insurance Code defining home saliva cancer screening as an outpatient test using saliva to detect biomarkers for early-stage cancer.

Applies the new home saliva cancer screening requirement to state employee health benefits, county self-insured health plans, municipal self-insured health plans, and school district employee insurance.

Makes home saliva cancer screening coverage requirements applicable to Health Maintenance Organizations, Limited Health Service Organizations, and Voluntary Health Services Plans.

Effective January 1, 2024 for amendments to existing law; saliva cancer screening coverage requirement takes effect January 1, 2025.
