IL HB3322

Establishes the Law Enforcement Gang Database Information Act to regulate how law enforcement agencies maintain and use gang databases.

Requires all law enforcement agencies to adopt policies by January 1, 2024 governing access to gang databases, including limiting access to sworn officers, support personnel, and IT staff who have undergone character clearance and approved training.

Prohibits disclosure of gang database records for employment, education, licensing, or housing purposes, with exceptions for law enforcement and criminal justice entities' employment use and federal/national security purposes.

Mandates policies include security procedures and a review and purge process for gang database records.

Bars evidence of a person's mere presence on a gang database or shared gang database from being admitted in any criminal case.
