Department of Corrections may provide temporary housing assistance to persons being released from correctional institutions through rental vouchers for up to 6 months if such assistance prevents housing instability or homelessness.

Recipients may not receive more than a combined total of 6 months in rental vouchers per release from a Department of Corrections facility.

Department of Corrections must establish policies for prioritizing housing voucher funds for persons at risk of homelessness while considering risk of reoffending.
