HB3533 - Sexual Assault Survivors Protection Act

• Requires DNA samples and profiles to be used only for the specific incident being investigated, with restrictions on sharing samples with other agencies or entities without written agreements to maintain these restrictions.

• Mandates expungement of DNA profiles from all public and private databases for individuals who voluntarily provided exclusion samples and have no qualifying criminal history for inclusion in Illinois' DNA database.

• Provides exceptions allowing crime laboratories to retain elimination samples from laboratory staff and supply manufacturers for quality assurance purposes, and permits limited contamination evaluations of concurrently analyzed samples.
