Establishes a Generative AI and Natural Language Processing Task Force within the Department of Innovation and Technology to investigate and report on generative AI and natural language processing software.

Task Force composition includes 4 legislative appointees (Speaker, House Minority Leader, Senate President, Senate Minority Leader), 5 state officials, 12 gubernatorial appointees (teachers, principals, cybersecurity experts, AI experts, business representatives, labor representatives), and the Attorney General.

Requires at least 5 public meetings in hybrid format (virtual and in-person) held in Chicago, Springfield, Metro East, Quad Cities, and Southern Illinois regions.

Task Force responsibilities include recommending legislation to protect consumer data, developing model policies for AI use in schools, assessing AI applications in public services and workforce impacts, and protecting civil rights and cybersecurity interests.

Task Force must submit a comprehensive report to the Governor and General Assembly by December 31, 2024.
