Changes terminology in the Illinois Insurance Code Section 367f from "fireman/firemen" to "firefighter" throughout the statute.

Expands the definition of "firefighter" to include paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMT, EMT-basic, EMT-intermediate, and advanced EMT) employed by units of local government, in addition to traditional firefighters.

Requires group accident and health insurance policies covering firefighters employed by municipalities to allow continued coverage during retirement or disability periods under the same premium rates as active firefighters, with no discrimination in benefits.

Establishes notification procedures requiring municipalities to notify insurers within 15 days of a firefighter's retirement or disability, and insurers to notify firefighters of their right to elect continued coverage within 15 days of receiving municipal notice.

Permits firefighters to designate that insurance premiums be deducted from their pension payments through the Firefighter's Pension Fund, and applies the same continuance rights to self-insured municipal benefit plans.
