Reduces advance notice requirement for work release placements from 15 days to 3 days before a person is placed in a work release facility.

Requires the Department of Corrections to notify the State's Attorney and Sheriff of the county where the work release center is located with identifying information including name, age, physical description, photograph, offense, and sentence.

Allows electronic notification (instead of written notice) for individuals required to be housed outside the penitentiary system under Section 5-8-6.

Establishes that individuals housed outside the penitentiary system must receive notice "as soon as reasonably practicable" rather than a fixed 3-day advance notice, with electronic notice to the sentencing county's State's Attorney.
