Amends the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act to require employers to pay nurses for half a day's work at their regular rate (minimum wage or higher) when they report for a scheduled shift but are not put to work, or are directed not to report.

Applies to all nurses including those providing telemedicine services using technology to deliver care remotely.

Exempts employers from the reporting pay requirement when operations cannot commence due to threats, civil authority recommendations, public utility failures, or Acts of God beyond employer control.

Does not apply to nurses on paid standby status who are called to work at times other than their scheduled reporting time.

When a nurse reports to work but is given less than half their scheduled day's work, they receive pay for all hours worked plus half-pay for the remaining unworked portion of their scheduled shift.

Takes effect January 1, 2024.
